Kitchen Mayhem Update–We Have A Ceiling

Our New Ceiling

Kitchen Mayhem update–We have a ceiling! Things have been moving a little slow around here. Hubby and I both struggle with some health issues that I don’t really talk about as much as I thought I would on here. Hence my name- mrslittlebylittle. As I’ve said before, I move on a different speed than most people, but I get there eventually. Finally, though, I have some progress! We have a ceiling. A beautiful tongue and groove wood ceiling. Much thanks goes out to Hubby’s friend who came and did the physical labor part. Much thanks! Just in case you need a reminder- here is how this all started and this is my plan. Now the hard part- new decisions.

Decisions

What to do, what to do? This ceiling is so pretty. I don’t know what to do now. Do I paint it white like I once planned or do I get brave and stain it? My only worry is the butcher block countertops. Once we seal them, I am unsure of what color they will end up being. What color do you stain the ceiling when you are unsure of the final wood tone on your counter tops? What do you guys think? Here are a few beautiful examples of what a stained wood ceiling would look like. I love them!

Paint or Stain?

What would you guys do? Paint it white as planned like the cabinets and let the only wood tones be the new light wood floor and the butcher block counters? Or take a leap of faith and keep them wood toned and cross your fingers that they somehow don’t end up competing with countertops? Drop me a suggestion if you have one, and as always, thanks for stopping by for our Kitchen Mayhem update–We have a ceiling!

I am just a Mom, a wife, and a DIY lover who works full time and deals with chronic illness... I am a lupus warrior and a Sjogren’s sister, I have fibromyalgia, I have had decompression surgery for Arnold Chiari, and have Cervical Dystonia along with other health issues and I live by the Spoon Theory (If you don’t know what the spoon theory is don’t worry- I will share) like any other chronic illness patient. My life may move at a different pace but I get there just the same. In my own time. Little by little.
