The Ideas For Our Powder Room Makeover
The Kitchen Mayhem that I told you guys about in my prior posts is also affecting our tiny half bath as well. Because it is basically connected to our kitchen, we have to do a Powder Room Makeover as well, and I’m not upset about it! It is as out dated as our kitchen and long overdue for a refresh.
The Walls Of Our Powder Room Makeover
Since we are using shiplap in our kitchen, we have decided to carry it on into our powder room makeover. Instead of solid white we have selected a more weathered white looking pre-fabricated board that you can see here from Menards. The back wall behind the toilet will be an accent wall painted black for contrast or maybe a wallpaper. I’m leaning towards the black shiplap though!
The Vanity
For this tiny powder room I have decided to go with a more natural, weathered, wood tone look. It is exactly like the one on my mood board and I think the light natural wood tone will pop against the reflection of the black shiplap wall. I have to say, I am in love with it.
The Faucet
Since the new vanity is a nice light wood tone with black hardware, we decided to go with matte black for the new faucet. If we have to get a new one, why not get a fun one? We are going to find one of the waterfall faucets. I think it’s going to be perfect even if we have to splurge a little.
The Floor
The whole reason that we have to refresh the powder room is because it connects with our kitchen. Like I talked about in my last post Kitchen Mayhem Part 2, my Hubby purchased a new kitchen floor years ago. Due to my health and work schedule we just never got the chance to install it. It is a beautiful dark brown luxury laminate that looks like hardwood. Five to six years ago I wanted dark wood floors so badly I couldn’t stand it. Now, I know everyone is trending back to lighter tones but, hey, free is free! I think I will love them even now.
