Christmas Mantel

Probably one of my favorite things to do is decorate my mantel. Here is my most recent Christmas Mantel and what is new for this year. With just a few simple changes you too can change your whole holiday look.

Christmas Mantel– My basics

My base garland is the same one from last year and was from Pier One. After a quick online search, I don’t think it is available anymore. I also decided to keep my brass bells that I strung on twine. I have to say they are one of my favorite touches each year. My lights strung with Pinecones are from Pier One as well, and are battery operated with a remote control. Unfortunately, I don’t see them on the website either. Here are some that are very similar at Walmart. And last but not least, is my fantastic Skinny Baguette Board Bread Bowl from Décor Steals. Here is a link to the waitlist, it is currently out of stock but they do have other options if you want to search “bread bowls” on their site. You won’t be disappointed with any bread bowls that they have to offer!

Christmas Mantel– What’s new

Last year I filled my bread bowl with ornaments, but this year I had the itch to try something new. I decided to jump on the bottle brush tree trend. I knew I wanted something more neutral, so I went with a mix of trees from Target’s Dollar Spot and their Threshold line. Here is a link to the ivory Threshold trees that you see in my bread bowl. They are very cute. Also, they actually are battery operated and light up. The two taller trees on each end are from the Dollar Spot at Target. And finally, the other green bottle brush trees you see mixed in with the ivory ones are from the Dollar Spot as well.

Below I will post a little comparison with last years mantel and bread bowl décor. I have to say I think I like the new simple version with my bottle brush trees better! Also, in my defense, I had been working so much mandatory overtime that I didn’t get the chance to decorate my mantel until a day or so before Christmas. If I am not mistaken, I threw it all together on Christmas Eve!

My other new addition this year was the most beautiful velvet ribbon I have ever seen. I am in love with it! I found this particular ribbon on Amazon and I ordered two colors. The link to Avocado is here and the link to Antique is here. I ended up using the Antique color this year. I tied a long droopy bow at each end and then simply tucked the rest of the ribbon throughout the garland. It was the perfect shade to play off of my cream colored trees and my brass bells both at the same time.

Planning for next year

Something as simple as ribbon and a few bottle brush trees changed my whole holiday look. It can change yours too. Here is a quick peek back at my mantel from last year if you are interested. It’s never too early to start thinking about next year. I hope this quick little update can give you some new ideas on how to refresh your holiday décor with only a few simple changes. And, as always, thanks for stopping by!

My life may move at a different pace but I get there just the same. In my own time. Little by little.
