Christmas Mantle

My Christmas Mantle

With all of the craziness going on with our Kitchen Mayhem, I never got a chance to share my Christmas mantle. This was my first year to play around with our new white and charcoal fireplace. I just have to say… I loved it! It may be a little too late, but I still want to show you all what I came up with.

The Garland

I purchased this garland last year at Pier One. It was time for an update with something that looked more realistic and this garland was exactly what I was looking for. I also found battery operated lights on a wire that are strung with pinecones. They even had the option to purchase a remote control for the pinecone lights! All I had to do was weave the pinecone lights throughout the garland and, voila, the perfect Christmas mantle decor.

The Bruschetta Bread Bowl

My bread bowl– what more can I say about my bread bowl… It is hands down my favorite mantle décor purchase so far. It is so versatile. I snagged this one from Decor Steals earlier this year and I still see it pop up in their rotation from time to time. I have so much fun finding new ways to use it each season. This Christmas, I grabbed a box of oversized ornaments from Walmart and a few holiday pics and loaded them in. So simple and so pretty.

The Brass Bells

This was my favorite new addition this year. I fell in love with them the minute I saw them. I knew I wanted to add something brass, and possibly a bell of some sort but I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was until I ran across this little bell garland on Etsy. The seller had one string listed but I knew I needed more than that. A quick message to ask if she had another one, and problem solved. She made me a second set and messaged me back to let me know. There are existing screws in the mantle that I have always used to hang stockings from, so I strung each end on those and tied them together in the middle. I simply used my bread bowl to hold the center of the string up on the mantle. I tucked the string up under it in the center of my mantle and it was perfect! It was exactly what I was looking for.

The Wreath

I got this wreath on sale last year at Michaels. I took a little piece of of burlap ribbon I found at Dollar General and made a loop and bow to hang the wreath. Two command hooks– one on the mirror to take the weight of the wreath and one above the mirror to hang the bow– and done. Command hooks are awesome for temporary Christmas décor!

The Extras

To finish it off, I kept my existing candleholders and green candles that I purchased off of Amazon for my fall mantle. I also kept my inherited Longaberger vase that cracks me up every time I look at it (if you don’t know where the vase came from you can check out my old post here on doing a No Money Refresh and shopping your home). Finally, I grabbed a few red berry sprigs from the Dollar General to put down inside of it and I was finished!

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas mantle as much as I have. It is so fun to re-invent it every year. And, as always, thanks for stopping by again!

My life may move at a different pace but I get there just the same. In my own time. Little by little.
